Termite
Termites
Termites are insects that cause damage to the following valuable things:
1. Young plants and trees in natural forests and shade gardens
2. Timbers placed outdoors
3. Timbers used for the structure of buildings and houses
4. Utensils and equipment made of wood and fiber plants such as tables, cabinets, paper, books, carpets and clothes
5. Roots of plants in agricultural fields, plantations, vegetable gardens, gardens and orchards.
As for their main food, termites feed on cellulose which makes up the bulk of plants and any material containing cellulose. The most potential target of termites is therefore wood, such as posts, wood for construction, thin wood, plywood, laminated boards and other kinds of synthetic wood. However, railway wood is rarely found being attacked, probably because such wood always vibrates when a train runs back and forth over it. Other favorite foods of termites include furniture, books, mats, linoleum, clothes, etc. Besides wood, termites also damage leather and glass or even make some kinds of metal become more susceptible to rust. Obviously, loss due to termite attack results in a waste of wood and other properties, as well as money and labor costs in constructing, repairing and renovating.
